Free Mediation for Landlord-Tenant Disputes

Last month we have blogged about the moratorium on eviction ordered by the CDC due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This moratorium has resulted in a great deal of hardship for landlords and uncertainty for clients. In an effort to assist both landlords and tenants, our office will provide free mediation services to landlords and tenants who wish to engage in mediation to resolve any issue, including unpaid rent. Mediation is a voluntary process used by parties to resolve any dispute without reliance on the courts. What are the requirements to receive free services?

  • The property must be in Virginia, West Virginia, or the District of Columbia.

  • Both the landlord and the tenant must agree to mediation.

  • The mediation will be online.

  • The free mediation will be offered for no more than three hours of mediation service and office administration.

  • Free mediation is subject to availability on our calendar.

  • This offer will expire on May 31, 2021.

What’s next? If you would like to learn more about mediation, you can visit the mediation page on this website or schedule a free fifteen-minute meeting with Brenda here.

If you are ready to schedule your free mediation in the landlord-tenant matter, simply complete this form and send it. Our office will be in touch with you to schedule the free online mediation. You may also call our office at 800-970-5501 to schedule your free mediation session.
